Overview
CRO Experts Forum is a technical discussion group comprising of Senior Team Leaders and/or Heads from the leading Contract Research Organizations (CROs). The forum envisages bringing together renowned Experts and CRO Industry Scientists at a platform to discuss the hottest technical issues and topics for achieving research and business objectives.
The objective of this CRO Experts Forum is to deliberate upon the best ways being followed in the evolving landscape of drug discovery and will try to explore different case studies, experiences, viewpoints and school of thoughts in this field. This forum is essentially a discussion group to ask questions, discuss, present viewpoints, raise issues, suggest solutions and not a conference or a training course.
India became a hub for drug discovery collaborations in the late-1990s when global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies started outsourcing non-IP-sensitive chemistry such as chemical libraries, intermediates, and reference compounds. The service offerings expanded beyond chemistry into biology and pharmacology, and a number of deals gradually evolved into IP-generating collaborations with Indian inventors, and often into collaborative, integrated drug discovery alliances, with, in selected cases, the elements of risk and reward sharing. In addition to a growing network of smaller companies, this led to the rise of several large contract research companies. These CROs not only offer chemistry services (chemical and analytical) but have expanded into multiple service areas, including biology, pharmacology, DMPK, clinical services and bioinformatics giving rise to integrated drug discovery services. Today, India is moving toward becoming the hub of the contract research drug discovery services.
This CRO forum is brought to you by the Danaher Team and facilitated by Glostem. This forum envisages bringing together the thought leaders for discussion on the recent case studies and experiences with different approaches and exploring the best way forward for solving the analytical, regulatory and other challenges in the evolving drug discovery arena and exploring new opportunities in contract research drug discovery services landscape.
