Pranav Tripathi's Biography

Dr. Pranav Tripathi is an experienced sustainability and policy advocacy professional with over 12+ years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Tongji University, Shanghai, China. In 2017, he joined the ICC, where he has a profound understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the Chemical Industry. His primary focus is on promoting sustainability, circularity, and collaborating with governments to develop chemical industry-friendly policies and regulations.
Currently, at ICC, he holds a leadership role, spearheading the development and implementation of sustainable practices through the ‘Responsible Care’, a Global Chemical Industry Sustainability Program. Dr. Tripathi is a member of several prestigious groups, including the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) Leadership Group, the Responsible Care Leadership Group (RCLG), and the Energy and Climate Change Leadership Group (E&CC LG). He is also a member of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Sectorial Advisory Group in Identification and Implementation of Low Carbon / Energy Efficient Technologies. He has represented ICC at prominent national and international institutions, including the UNEP, various state and central pollution control boards (SPCB & CPCB) in India, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. Additionally, he is a member of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and serves on various committees such as PCD and CHD.
Before his current role, Dr. Tripathi pursued postdoctoral research at esteemed institutions such as the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI).
