Goetz Hensel's Biography

Goetz Hensel, Head Centre for Plant Genome Engineering (CPGE), Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, Germany

Goetz Hensel is a molecular biologist by training holding a PhD from the University of Braunschweig. Currently, he leads the Centre of Plant Genome Engineering at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. His research interests include Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer methods of cereals and targeted genome modifications using custom endonucleases such as clustered regularly-interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR/Cas). Furthermore, he is interested in the production of pharmaceuticals in plants (molecular farming). He has published ca 100 research papers and several book chapters with various publishers. Goetz Hensel has been serving as a Senior Editorial Board Member for since 2020.
